The Bridgend Chess Club internal Club Championship returns to an all-play-all format, after a few years as a swiss competition.

Following much debate over the format it was decided to have three Divisions; Championship, Reserve and Minor, with promotion and relegation.

Players were drawn at random with the first 9 names placed in the Championship, the next 9 names in the Reserve, and the remaining players in the minor.

The time-control is quite generous. For a weekday game it is 1 hour and 15 minutes for 35 moves, plus 30 minutes to finish. Games taking place on the weekend can use the weekday time control, however if both players are in agreement the following weekend time control can be used as an alternative. 1 hour 40 minutes for 40 moves, plus 20 minutes to finish (if there is no agreement, the weekday time control takes precedence).
Positions in the league shall be determined by points. A win earns 1 point, a draw earns a ½ point with a loss scoring 0.

Promotion and relegation will be on a two-up two-down basis (there will be no promotion from the Championship and no relegation from the minor).

The highest placed player in each Division will be declared the winner of that Division. In the case of a tie-break, the results of games between the players involved against each other will be used to determine where possible the winner. Should this format fail to produce a clear winner, the tournament controller reserves the right to use other methods to reveal a clear winner.

** Note: At least half of the scheduled games must be played by Jan 1st 2011, with the remaining games completed by May 31st 2011. There is no specific order in which the games should be played, as long as this requirement is met. **
