Welcome to the Bridgend Chess Club website!
Bridgend Chess Club meet at the Bridgend Tennis & Bowls Club, Church Road, Bridgend, every Thursday at 7.00pm. New players are always welcome. We run various in-club competitions and also have five teams competing in the East Glamorgan Chess League.
If you like chess why not come along and make new friends, there's no age limit. Young or old all are welcome.

Bridgend Chess Club will agai be holding a Simul & Lecture session on the last Sunday of November. Following the excellent visit from IM Andrew Martin, it's the turn of popular chess player, coach and lecturer GM Nigel Davies. Book you places now to avoid disappointment.

Time Lords & Jedi Cup Success
Bridgend rode their 24 seater chariot to Briton Ferry, for the WCU Finals Day, with four teams competing in different sections.
The Time Lords proving to strong for Penarth, won the Open Plate Final.
Bridgend B were unlucky not to win the U1800 section. Anthony Baker grabbed the only point against worthy winners Malpas Apprentices.
The Bridgend Jedi have really began to use the force with devastating effect. On this occasion opponents Caerphilly didn't even make it to the venue. Jedi winning the U1500 Cup by default.
A junior side which included Nathan Trickey, Thomas Davies, Michael John and Roshan Daniel from Upper Killay competed bravely in the junior jamboree, but alas fell to two strong Cardiff teams.
Junior Championship 2009/10
The juniors requested their own individual club championship. As a result the first all-play-all Junior League has started this year. Click here for more information.
The Clive Trevelyan Tournament
Bridgend Chess Club's Ladder tournament continues to be popular among the club stalwarts and juniors. Members can challenge each other to matches with points awarded for the win, using a grade based handicap method. Click here for more information.
